I haven’t done a recipe in quite a while, soooo, after making these amazing brownies this week I figured this would be the perfect recipe to share with you all!

Our neighbor makes these brownies every year at Christmas time and we’ve wondered for quite a while what exactly is in them that makes them so melt in your mouth good. My mom finally got around to asking her for the recipe and we made some for ourselves a few days ago. Only a couple of days later they’re almost gone, but I think that only testifies of their tastiness.

This recipe combines the best of the world of chocolate and dumps it all in one scrumptious treat. I mean just listen to the name – rich fudgy brownies. Brownies and fudge. Need I say more?

Sinfully Rich Fudgy Brownies

Ingredients for brownie:

  • 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Ingredients for frosting:

  • 4 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 eggs (yes eggs in frosting, trust me, it turns out all right)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (1lb) package powdered sugar (which is about 3-4 cups)
  • 4 cups miniature marshmallows (the regular ones not the mini mini)

Directions for Brownies:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and make sure to grease your baking pan. (This recipe is best suited for a 13 x 9 pan.) Then over the stove melt the butter and chocolate until fully melted and combined. In a mixing bowl put together the eggs, sugar, vanilla, and chocolate/butter mixture. Mix until combined. Add your flour. Pour this into the baking pan and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes. Make sure you do not leave them in your oven for too long; these brownies should be moist and not dry. Once you take them out of the oven, give them time to cool. While cooling, make your frosting.

Directions for Frosting:

Get out your saucepan one more time to melt the butter and chocolate for your frosting. Melt them just as you did when you made the brownies. Once melted, combine with the eggs, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Beat until thoroughly blended. Then stir, not beat, in your marshmallows.

Once your frosting is made and your brownies are cool, spread the frosting over the brownies. Once frosted put your brownies in the refrigerator to chill overnight. Store them in the refrigerator for a cool, delicious treat.

Enjoy!
