Seventy Seven Years Ago:
It’s almost implausible, that seventy-seven years ago, today, war exploded, raining down fire, on a sleepy nation. Here I sit, comfort and warmth surrounding me, while seventy seven years ago, this morning, men lost their lives, their peace, their sanity, their bodies in fire. Here I sit, whole and unperturbed, while seventy seven years ago, today, a most horrific, most tragic disturbance – one I cannot comprehend – fell on our nation. Here I sit, a heart full of gratitude, and something else I cannot name. Admiration perhaps, but it’s much, much deeper than that, that which I feel toward those there seventy seven years ago, today.
